Revelation and Revolution

Astrologers have been watching February 2026 for a while and with good reason. It carries prominent cycles, choice points, and moments of synchronicity.
To begin, February holds the first eclipse of 2026. A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius. And eclipses are anything but subtle. They are supercharged cycles of potential and reset points in the system.
In a solar eclipse, the Moon briefly blocks the light of the Sun. Symbolically, this creates a pause. A suspension. A moment where forward momentum halts just long enough for something essential to recalibrate before restarting again.
Astrologically, eclipses are powerful not just because they amplify the energy of the time, but because they must occur near the nodes of the Moon. The Nodes are those fated points associated with pivotal growth, consequence, and destiny. In other words, when the nodes are involved something matters. Something gets our attention. Something wants to move.
Eclipses tend to reveal what has been building beneath the surface. They interrupt denial, disrupt avoidance, and bring issues into view that can no longer be ignored. What was easier to rationalize or postpone becomes harder to look away from. Awareness sharpens, not necessarily because we are ready, but because the moment demands it.
A Foreshadowing
Currently, the lunar nodes are still traveling through Aries and Pisces. They don’t officially shift into Aquarius and Leo until July of this year. That makes this ‘out of sign’ eclipse a kind of foreshadowing, revealing early signals of larger cycles to come. When the North Node enters Aquarius and the South Node moves into Leo later this year, we’ll be working more explicitly with collective systems, leadership, power, new technology, innovation, and identity. What arises now, though, offers clues. So, pay attention. These themes will echo forward.

As if that weren’t enough, February brings additional pressure points.
When Cycles Converge
On the 13th, Saturn moves into Aries, and on the 20th, it conjoins Neptune at 0° Aries. That degree is the very beginning degree of the zodiac, and the entire spark point of the astrological wheel. I’ve written more extensively about that conjunction (here), but it must be noted that while Saturn/Neptune conjunctions happen every 36 years this conjunction at this degree has not occurred in recorded history for millennia.
And then there’s Uranus. The planet most associated with Aquarius squares this eclipse, adding more unpredictability, volatility, disruption, and shocking truth-telling. Because Uranus doesn’t whisper. It jolts.
The Messy Middle
So what does all of this mean?
This is the thing about change. By definition, it moves us from what is familiar into unknown territory. On either side, the old and the new, the ground is usually firm. The hardest place is the messy middle. The space between what was and what will be.
That in-between is especially challenging when we’re not fully in control of the change, when forces are larger than us, when outcomes are uncertain, and when timelines feel beyond our control. That liminal space is exactly where we are right now. And we are going to be there for awhile. Which is why things feel charged. And raw. And unresolved. And complex.
The good news? We are not going back.
The hard news? We are not going back.
Technical Truth
Aquarius is an air sign, but it’s more than air. It’s electricity itself. Innovation. Networks. Technical truth. Cause and effect. Aquarius insists on a reality check about reality.
Its glyph is the Water Bearer pouring water down from the heavens above. This denotes both perspective and necessity. In an air sign, that water symbolizes information itself. The wisdom of data. Signals. Feedback loops. The real. Because information shapes action. It informs choice, planning, and response. It can calm or inflame. Inspire or control. Clarify or distort. And human brains, efficient as they are, tend to rely on cognitive shortcuts. We favor familiar narratives. We seek confirming evidence. We avoid what challenges our existing beliefs. Bias is not a moral failure; it’s a human one.
But this is where Aquarius draws a hard line.
All the ways we cloak reality eventually fail. We can believe a storm isn’t coming until it arrives. We can believe an ideology explains everything until reality contradicts it. We can believe the words spoken until the lies are revealed through action. Technical truth doesn’t bother with the comfort of reassurance. Cause and effect doesn’t care what we prefer.
This New Moon Solar Eclipse delivers a lesson in clarity. In consequences. In revealing things as they are not as we might want them to be.
Thus, take this eclipse as a reminder that it is an excellent moment to change your mind.
Spend time with what is. See where life is showing you a reality you may not want to see. Think like a scientist. Detach. Observe. Gather actual data. Read laterally. Compare sources. Look for replication. Pay attention to what you can verify directly, not just what you’re told to believe, or what feels familiar and safe. Challenge your thoughts. Rest in complexity rather than rushing to resolve it.
Aquarius is the sign of revolution, after all, and that theme will only intensify in the months ahead. In every revolution, there are paths toward liberation and paths toward harm. The quality of our information shapes the quality of our choices.
And the nature of information itself is changing.
As AI becomes woven into search, media, education, and everyday decision-making, reality will be easier to simulate, narratives easier to manufacture, and certainty easier to sell. This does not mean we must fear the future, but it does mean we must mature alongside it. Our intellect must evolve with the tools we create.
The most important skill will not be what we think, but how we think.
We will need to adapt, not by outsourcing our minds, but by strengthening them.
Growing Wings
The Sabian symbol for this eclipse is a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis. It reminds us that profound change is rarely clean or orderly. Revolutions, like metamorphosis, do not proceed in straight lines. The caterpillar does not upgrade itself. It dissolves first. Its old structure breaking down into something unrecognizable, unstable, even chaotic. Only then do wings begin to form.
This is the phase we often misread. Dissolution looks like failure when we expect continuity. Confusion looks like collapse when we are attached to certainty. But this in-between state is not an error. It is a necessary part of the process. Without it, transformation cannot occur.
The symbol speaks to perseverance and resilience, but also to responsibility. A butterfly’s wings are delicate. How they are formed matters. In revolutionary moments, what we feed our minds, how we speak, what we amplify, and what we refuse all shape what emerges on the other side. Growth is not comfortable, but it is alive. And it has the potential to carry us somewhere new.
